Give up the .com
I can't stand it anymore…sorry it’s been so long since my last post. I just have to blog and get my ideas and thoughts out there. I've created Normalogic as a place to express these things. Know this that NL (Normalogic) is completely my idea. I came up with it first in my head. I checked the .com and it's already registered by someone else, but I had the idea first I'm sure of it.
Have you ever noticed that? You can check the .com's of almost anything and it's taken. Taken by people with "great" ideas but never the passion to actually see them through. Or domain squatters want to rip you off for a domain name you have an idea for. It's stupid really. I'm not all for things being regulated, but it would be interesting if there was a general requirement that you had to at least one general relevant page of information on a .com name or you would lose it. Basically you get one year, your initial registration year, to do something with it. If you have nothing on the .com before that, que trombone failure wha wha wha sound, you lose it.
For example allaboutboxes.com. I would think if I typed in allaboutboxes.com I would go to a site that’s…well…all about boxes. I would learn about how they’re made, what they can be used for, some big producers, how big the annual sales are, new advancements in box technology…the list goes on and on. Instead when you go to allaboutboxes.com you find a lame 1and1 place holder page. Upon looking at the whois you find that the domain is owned by somone who is blocking their real name through 1and1’s identity whois protection service. Or maybe the domain is actually owned by 1and1 itself? If it is, what in the world is 1and1 going to do with allaboutboxes.com???!!! I understand that sometimes companies reserve gimmick domains for shameless promotion of a new product. (For example Hot Pockets new website http://www.eatfreely.org/. Which by the way is kind of a dumb idea, considering the first thing that comes to mind is Jim Gaffigan’s Hot Pockets routine. See: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-xlN_ltZ3Ug) But 1and1 taking allaboutboxes.com? How in the world could a webhosting company twist allaboutboxes.com to their bennefit for some product? Oh well it’s not for me to know or understand. Nor do I want them to not have the opportunity to twist it to use for some gimmick marketing idea. But upon looking at the domain, whoever has it has had it reserved since 2005. 5 years! If you can’t make an idea come to life within 5 years, it’s simply not going to happen. For Pete’s sake, let the domain name go and give the guy in his garage who is really passionate about starting a site about boxes a crack at putting the .com to good use!
Ok that’s all for now…btw…I can’t get Normalogic.com and I don’t really care. I’m keeping the name Normalogic until whoever has the .com gives it to me.

Hello world.
If you've ever done any programming, you know that the first thing you create is a script or coding that produces "Hello world." on the page. So this is my first blog entry.
So here I am on my new blog. There are so many opinions out there, what's one more?
Do you really care about organized sports anymore? I mean really what's the point. Grown men get paid literally millions of dollars to run up and down a field or a court. Then we spend thousands on tickets and over priced concession foods that clog up our body just for the "privilege" of watching them. Seriously? Dude, let's put it in these terms. If someone comes up to you and asks, "Hey would you like to spend $500 to go watch a bunch of overgrown sweaty males or females run around a field?" What is your answer? A RESOUNDING NO! But that's exactly what you pay for when you go watch a football game
Well that's all I have time for now. Later.
